I don't think there is any principle behind the choice of groups or ideas.

It seems to me that the push for diversity simply favors the people and ideas with which political liberals sympathize. Liberals have always sympathized with blacks. More recently they have come to sympathize with feminists, Latinos, and Native Americans. It's not surprising that these are the groups included in most demands for diversity.

It would be far better if the liberals would be honest about this. Instead of pretending that diversity IN ITSELF is good, they should say which groups and ideas they favor and tell us why. If they want blacks or Latinos but not Poles or Evangelicals, they should be honest about it.
