We've all agreed that the blacks who need help the most are those with the least education and the most limited skills.
If strong affirmative action programs become really common, they will force employers to hire people who do their jobs considerably less well than others who are available. That will hurt the overall efficiency of American companies, and that in turn will make it hard for them to compete throughout the world.
The result will be that our companies will lose markets and the profits that are needed to create more jobs at home. And it will be the poor who will be hurt the most.
