You can't blame all the bad events of the past 25 years on affirmative action. There may be more black children in single parent families, more crime, and high unemployment, but how do you know that affirmative action is the cause of it? A lot has happened over the last 25 years. Jobs have been leaving the cities where blacks live. Drugs have spread. The armed forces have been cut back. All of these things matter.

I think we need MORE affirmative action rather than less if we are going to impact some of these problems. We need to create jobs and make sure that poor blacks get them.
