Depending on how you justify your position, you may have to deal with the problem of infanticide. Both Warren and Tooley agree that their positions imply that infanticide is not a violation of the infant's rights and is not the killing of a person. Does your position have the same implication?

If you wish to oppose infanticide as a violation of the infant's rights and defend most late abortions, you might try one of these approaches: (1) show that the infant has a different moral status than a late term fetus, or (2) show that the mother's right to control her body is such that it doesn't matter what the moral status of the fetus is, but that after birth this right of the mother is no longer involved or no longer sufficient to justify infanticide.

In any case, make clear whether your justification for abortion also justifies infanticide and, if it does, respond to those who believe that infanticide is wrong because it harms the infant.
