The courts have already ruled that universities are obliged to provide equal access to education to women and minorities. The kind of environment created by hate speech on campus makes that impossible. As a result, the university is obliged to take steps to restore the proper environment and equal access along with it. A speech code is a reasonable way to help do just that.
