So Rawls doesn't think there is any basis for principles of justice except that they are chosen in a certain kind of situation. 

Everything depends on us being willing to accept a certain situation as the one that will somehow lead people to choose the principles we should live by.

But how does Rawls know what sort of situation we should use as a starting point?
