That MIGHT be true, but where's your evidence? How do we know, for example, that bringing in the groups you're talking about will yield the greatest benefits? A conservative Christian might argue that bringing in more Evangelicals would do the most good. How should we decide?

And besides, many of the people who want greater diversity don't justify their preference for certain groups the way you have. You emphasize divisions that are causing conflict. They claim that the greatest benefits derive from making our universities more like society. But, if that's the goal, there is no reason to emphasize blacks or Latinos or women. Bringing in more Evangelicals or Slavs or Italians also makes the universities more like society. And yet that's not what they advocate.
