I also think there is another benefit that we haven't mentioned. Putting more blacks and more women in management positions at corporations or on faculties at our universities means putting them in DECISION MAKING positions.
If we want less biased decisions to be made in business and education, it will be very helpful to have representatives of the traditional 'out' groups involved in the decisions. If there has been a bias against blacks, one way to reduce it is to add blacks to committees that make decisions and recommendations. From a moral point a view, that would be a significant improvement.
