No. I haven't forgotten that argument. As a matter of fact, I think there is real value in black teachers and executives as role models. But that isn't what we're talking about.
You've got to distinguish two different arguments here. One argument claims that we should have strong affirmative action to bring more blacks into teaching and business to serve as role models. The second argument says that we should have affirmative action to bring more blacks into those positions because they bring with them a different set of ideas or a different point of view. That's not the same argument. A person could agree with one and reject the other.
