The argument isn't that ANY group of people with ANY different feature should be brought into colleges or businesses.

The point is that certain people have been excluded, and that a special effort should be made in order to bring their representation up to what it should be.

Keep in mind that there were almost no black students at many of our best schools for a long time, no blacks on the faculties of those schools, no blacks in top management at our largest companies, and so on.
