Poor blacks have been harmed the most. I'm not denying that. And if we must choose, they should get the most help. I'll agree to that.
But I want to get away from such an individualistic approach. Black people were harmed AS A GROUP for many years, and it is AS A GROUP that they should be compensated.
If you look at the statistics on where blacks are in this society, you will see time and time again that we have lower incomes, fewer professionals, poorer housing, and so on. The way to change that is to move blacks as quickly as possible into the positions they would be in if they had not been unjustly treated in the first place.
