Where was this so-called merit system when black people were discriminated against right and left?

There hasn't been a merit system. Now, all of a sudden, everybody is in favor of merit. I'll tell you why. It's because for the first time, sizable groups of white people are afraid that they may lose their monopoly on the better jobs.

Suddenly we hear about a right to be chosen under a merit system. And does anybody really believe that? Tell me the truth. If your cousin owns a company, do you want him to search for the best person or do you want him to hire YOU? And do you think he is morally wrong to do it?
