Ann, don't throw 'ad hominem' arguments at me. I wasn't even alive in 1950. You know that as well as I do.

I'm not defending what any particular group of white people said or did at that time. I know perfectly well that our history is full of discrimination of the meanest sort. That isn't what I support and you know it.

Let's try to talk about this in a more rational way. If we can't, then what good is moral philosophy?
