Which of the following positions comes closest to your view of what the law should say? Consider the typical case and not the exceptions that you might want to allow for.

All or most abortions should be illegal. Early abortions should be legal but late abortions seriously limited. Most early and late abortions should be legal. I am undecided about what the law should say.

You might want to consider these two questions:

Should abortion, whenever it is intrinsically wrong, be made illegal regardless of the consequences? (On this view abortion should be illegal when it is morally wrong even if more women will die from illegal abortions.) Should abortion, whenever it is not intrinsically wrong, be legal regardless of the consequences? (On this view abortion should be legal when it is not morally wrong even if it is done to have fewer female children or to select hair color.)
