If you would make all abortions illegal, be sure that you have reasons for not allowing such widely accepted exceptions as rape, incest, and the life of the mother.

If you hold that most abortions should be illegal, be sure that you have reasons for the exceptions you would allow.

If you hold that early abortions should be permitted and late abortions much more restricted, be sure that you have reasons to make this distinction. Is there something different about a late term fetus? What is it? Why is it relevant?

If you hold that most early and late abortions should be legal, does your reasoning permit abortions for sex selection and such trivial reasons as hair color? On the other hand, if you would prohibit abortion in one or both of these cases, what is your basis for doing so? Is it consistent with your basis for making most abortions legal?

If you are undecided, what rule should be followed? Should the law opt for liberty because there is no conclusive argument against abortion? Or should the law 'play safe' because we are unsure how to decide the moral gravity of abortion?
