As radical as they are, what Vera and Malik want is similar to the traditional Christian goal of transforming the inner human being. It was Jesus who said that we must become like children and that lust in itself is the same as adultery. Unlike liberalism, which has always been primarily interested in controlling behavior, they want to eradicate certain attitudes, beliefs, and evaluations. Having done so, they hope to change social patterns of inequality.

The tool they focus on is unusual. They hope to transform the inner person by controlling language. Without certain words, certain beliefs, attitudes and evaluations cannot be thought or expressed.

As I have said before, I think this greatly exaggerates the role of language in creating inequality or social organization in general.
