• First Amendment doctrine is being used to allow a flood of pornographic books, films, and magazines to circulate freely. It is creating an environment in which women are thought of as objects of violence and sexual exploitation.

You may think that we can go on with political work as usual in this situation; but I think you misunderstand the importance of what's happening. These ideas are highly influential. They create and maintain systems of inequality in completely irrational ways. Remember, people act as they think; and these ideas are providing the basis for their thought.
