I have absolutely no problem with you addressing the problem of inequality as it is manifested today. I only ask that you not find your justification in an amendment that has nothing to do with the problems you wish to address. If you wish to address inequality of income or education through the Constitution, you should do what was done in 1868: adopt an amendment.

The reason you don't do that is quite simple. You know you can't get popular support for what you want. So instead you are reading your objectives back into the Fourteenth Amendment.
