I agree that education is the goal of the university. But it doesn't follow that any means that furthers or protects education is permissible. Universities also have commitments to the means by which they will accomplish their goals.

• Universities have a commitment to achieve their primary goals without the use of rules that ban ideas or the expression of ideas.
  

• Universities should achieve their goals through education, persuasion, and example rather than punishment.

I agree that universities should not tolerate physical intimidation or harassment or disruption. But these terms should be narrowly interpreted and must not be used simply to stop the expression of ideas that we find repulsive.
