I agree that the main goal of the university is education, and that racist speech interferes with that goal. That's one reason why it can and should be restricted.

But I do not believe that we can only justify restrictions on hate speech in the special case of a state institution with a particular goal - like a courtroom or the university - that the speech interferes with. I think we can justify more than that.
