All of your arguments are too socially oriented. You're looking at the value of free speech to the group or to society as a whole rather than to the individual.

The important thing about free speech is that it allows the individual to develop his or her individuality and protects him or her from control by others. This may or may not contribute to the good of society. I think it usually does, but it's hard to tell. That's less important that the value to the individual.

Each of us has certain plans and projects that give value and purpose to life. That's what I mean by individuality. Freedom of expression is required in order to carry out those plans and projects.
