Hold on.

You talk about some sort of moral obligation to the common good that owners of property have simply because they own property. That sounds very humane, I admit. But what is the principle of limitation that operates here? Without some principle that limits the obligation you speak of, non-owners could demand anything from owners. All they have to do is say it's for the "common good."

I suppose the government is going to turn out to be the agency that enforces the obligation you speak of. What principle limits what the government can demand? For example, what prevents government from putting a 90% income tax on income from property in order to fulfill the obligation you're talking about?

I believe in limited government. And I mean LIMITED. I think you're creating a slippery slope that has no principled limits.
