Both of you present compelling ideals. But can't anyone do that? Can't anyone construct an ideal? It can be whatever they like?

How can any of us 'prove' that anyone else should accept our ideal? I'm free to reject either of your ideals and your whole argument goes out the window with it. That's too arbitrary for me.

Remember, even Adolf Hitler had ideals; and maybe what he did was validly deduced from those ideals. But so what? None of us accept his ideals.
