I think the diversity of moral beliefs around the world matters for several reasons:

• Once we see how different people evaluate the same situation or action, we can no longer assume that our evaluation is obvious. 
• Furthermore, we can no longer assume that our evaluation is the correct one.
• And finally, as you philosophers would put it, the differences lead us to ask what it means for an evaluation to be 'correct.' Do we know the answer to that one?
