I'm unclear about something here. You seem to be hinting that the theory of ethical relativity implies that we cannot make moral judgments about other cultures. I'm not sure that's true.

Professor Sidgwick summed up the theory of ethical relativism by saying that it allowed for the possibility that two conflicting moral judgments were both true. He also added that relativists believe that there is no basis for moral principles that is entirely independent of human choices and attitudes. I don't see how either of these claims implies that we in our culture cannot or should not make judgments about the practices of people in other cultures. And, of course, they would be just as free to make judgments about us.
