I'm not ready to pronounce strong affirmative action a failure and rely on color-blind procedures the way you are, Fred.

I've told you before, color-blindness is a myth. It doesn't exist and we can't make it exist just by outlawing racial discrimination.

I reject the arguments based on utility because they could be used to justify discrimination against blacks. But I still believe that blacks are owed reparations for the injustices imposed by government and the discrimination practiced in the private sector. For me, strong affirmative action is ONE way to pay those reparations (although I'm not saying it's the best way).
