Dee, I know you believe in strong natural rights --rights to liberty and property. And I know that you think that natural rights protect the weak. Slavery would have been impossible if whites have carried natural rights to their logical conclusions.

But I think that you have a tendency to think of these things in the abstract instead of studying how they have played out historically. The slaves should have been paid large scale reparations after the Civil War. The land should have been divided among the former slaves and poor whites. That was not done. The distribution of land and power continued to be based on injustice that was not remedied. We can and should make up for that even today.
