A lot depends on what we call "color-blind." I want to say something about that later. Right now let me say that a hiring or admissions process can be color-blind on the face of it but still include elements that are indirectly and unintentionally discriminatory.

For example, if a company hires on the basis of recommendations from its employees, and if the employees are all white, then the people the company hires are going to be all or nearly all white. That would be a case of indirect and unintentional discrimination.

When we talk about "color-blind" hiring, we have to think about both direct and indirect discrimination. Have you considered that?
