If you insist on using a broader principle of compensation, at least apply it to individuals. We all know the statistics comparing blacks with whites in the United States. If you must think in those terms, think of the differences as gaps that will eventually close if we are just and fair at the individual level.
When you think of compensation, try to think in terms of individuals. The question shouldn't be "What have blacks as a whole lost through injustice?" Instead, we should be looking at a particular case and asking "What has this person lost through injustice?" Even your own principle of compensation looks at the situation that way.
