There are other arguments that attempt to render the question of personhood irrelevant. If you are approaching the issue from a Christian perspective, you may be interested in the view of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. "To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And that is nothing but murder."

Bonhoeffer avoids the question of personhood by appealing to the intention of God and the future person whose existence is prevented by abortion. He assumes that every conception shows that God intends to create a person. To make this argument work, we would have to show that pregnancy is different from other conditions with which we routinely interfere (such as illness) without thinking that we are interfering with God's intentions. What do you think?
