- The comparative weight or strength of the various rights.
- The mother's degree of responsibility for pregnancy (extending
from rape at one extreme to the use of fertility enhancing drugs
at the other).
- The gravity of her reasons for seeking an abortion (including
any threat to her life/health/well being, loss of freedom, and so on).
- Whether the child is killed directly or indirectly. (For example, whether
the abortion directly kills or merely allows the child to die.)
- Whether abortion is the least harmful way for the mother to
exercise her right to control her body or defend herself.
- Whether abortion is in the interest of the mother, the child,
or both.
