Most persons who take this position also believe that the embryo/fetus is a being with the same moral status as an adult. Since it is normally wrong to kill an innocent adult, they conclude that it is similarly wrong to kill the embryo/fetus. If you wish to support this position, be sure to do the following:

Explain why the embryo has the same moral status as an adult even though it lacks all of the adult characteristics we normally associate with personhood. Respond to Thomson's violinist analogy. (Would the woman linked to the violinist be required to support him?) Explain how a woman can acquire obligations that she never agreed to (in the case of rape).
